Ocean Marina Jomtien

18.05.2026

Round 2 of the Thailand Platu Championship was completed at Ocean Marina Jomtien from 1–4 May, with four days of close one-design racing on the Gulf of Thailand.

The fleet was well represented, with teams travelling from the UK, Australia and Malaysia, alongside two Thailand-based teams. Despite some late withdrawals due to travel disruptions, several of those teams have already indicated their intention to join the upcoming rounds.

Four Days of Close Racing

Round 2 delivered a full mix of conditions, from light shifting breeze and storm cells to stronger 16–18 knot conditions on the final day.

Race Officer Thammasak Meeyousamsen managed a strong racing programme across the weekend, with tight mark roundings, frequent lead changes and close battles throughout the fleet.

Chris Way’s Easy Tiger Racing showed strong consistency across the event, while Rolf Heemskerk’s Next Factor and Aaron Taunt’s Aargh & Aargh fought closely for the remaining podium places.
